I offer a Basic Digital Photography course
From Feb 2011 this course will be administered through
The University of Life with a new fee structure as below.

Next course: 23, 24 April 2011

If you are confused with all the settings on your digital camera, use it on “Auto” and get frustrated when some pictures just don’t turn out right – then this course is for you.

Course A:  3 Modules:

1. Saturday 0800 to 1200: Theory and camera settings                                                        -  4 hrs
2. Saturday 1300 to 1700: Practical on Location                                                                  -  4 hrs
3. Sunday 1500 to 1900:  Adjudication and computer post production                                 -  4 hrs.

I supply image manipulation software (GIMP) for free.  

Equipment to bring:

Each student needs to have their own digital camera which should have the options of shooting on auto and manual. A tripod is also essential and I have tripods to loan for the course if you don't have your own. For the Sunday session you should have a laptop computer or at least a memory stick to copy the software to.

I take a maximum of 6 students at a time so book early to get a place. The cost is now R1400 with a full money back guarantee if you are not satisfied at the end of the last session.

Venue: University of Life HO, 102 Lesley Avenue, Fourways, Johannesburg North.

Course B:  1 module:

A short 2 hour course just on getting to know your camera, its settings and the best way to use it, along with  some imaging theory. The cost for this is now R400 and will be on a Friday evening from 1900 to 2100.

If anyone arranges a group themselves of at least 6 people (they being the 7th), at a venue of their choice within 20 kms of Ferndale, Randburg, they will get their personal course for free. If the distance is such that I have to travel and stay overnight in that person's home they would need to get a minimum of 10 other people to do the course to cover the extra cost of travelling by road or air.

Once people have completed the courses I will advise them from time to time of photographic outings where we can get together to further hone your skills.

All payments for the course are to be made through the University of Life on application from their website www.uoflife.co.za
